Posh Spice

Day 16 - Vienna, Austria:

It was an interesting day. I started it off at the Spanish Riding School watching the morning exercise to classical music. I'm not a horse person really so it was...different. I sat next to a really well dressed German girl that was done up so perfectly and had the biggest rock on her finger. She obviously rode horses and was well off. Meanwhile I was in acid wash jean shorts, my Birks, MEC backpack (leaned up against her Louis), and pushing the shower situation. Oops.

From there I visited the Mozart house. That was pretty neat. Then I walked over to Cafe Central, a 103 year old cafe - or something close to that, that poets and politicians would gather and hang out.

Then it was time to head back and shower and get beautified for the Opera at the famous Musikverein! I went a bit early to take some pics and have a glass of wine. It was really nice. I enjoyed it. I knew most of the Mozart songs played!

The sun made an appearance today too and I think I got a bit more tanned. Yay! Also, as I was walking around all day there were hundreds of police at every corner in the main city centre. Their vehicles were taking up all the parking spots too. I have never seen so many police around. I asked my cab driver on the way home from the opera what was going on and he said it was due to political demonstrations...which I never saw.

This is the Golden Hall at the Opera:
