Wall Walk

Day 42 - Mostar, Bosnia to Dubrovnik, Croatia:

This morning was an early one. Our bus picked us up at 7:20 am to go to Dubrovnik, Croatia. I safely stowed my painting and off we went!

It didn't take very long to reach the border at all and shortly after we stopped for a coffee. I had the strongest cappuccino of my life and was on a major caffeine high after that.

During the drive you end up going back into Brosnia and then back into Croatia a couple of times, which is really strange. We drove along the Adriatic Sea and saw some dolphins!

We arrived in Dubrovnik around lunch time and stopped at the bus station to exchange money and use the ATM. You could tell it was going to be a hot day! At our hotel we got settled in and then took an hour for lunch. I ran across the street and got some almonds and cranberries and stuff for breakfast the next day. The toilet seat in our room is very interesting. Definitely worth writing about. It's a sea themed seat with shells and other things in between the glass haha.

After lunch we all took the public bus into the old town and walked along the old city walls. The views were absolutely stunning. It took about 2 and a half hours to leisurely stroll along the whole wall. Out on the water were groups of sea kayakers and 2 giant cruise ships. Lots of people were having fun jumping off the cliffs into the water as well. Unfortunately, I didn't have my bathing suit on. All I wanted to do was jump in that water!

I treated myself to some coconut gelato and then the group went for a drink along the cliffs. The white wine here is yum! Katherine and I had to go to the washroom so badly after drinks so we ran through the old town to find one ha. We lied to a lady at a restaurant and said we were customers and said the coffee was so good in order to use the washroom. You do what you gotta do.

We bused back to the hotel and I stopped at the post office to try and find a tube to roll my painting into, with no luck. The lady was such a see you next Tuesday.

Then it was shower time and off to dinner, which happened to be two steps away from the hotel. I had traditional meats and veggies. From dinner some of us walked down to the main promenade and over to the cave bar. That was neat. Then we went to a bar that was playing the match and watched US vs. Belgium. I couldn't keep my eyes open and so I left after 70 minutes.
